Many investors, especially in the U.S., choose an S&P 500 ETF as their core investment. Since 2009, U.S. stocks have outperformed the rest of the world, but no one knows how long this trend will continue. This is why the general recommendation is to invest in a global index, which currently includes a ~65% allocation to U.S. stocks.

Pairing an All-World ETF with an S&P 500 or Nasdaq-100 ETF may not be the best approach, as it can skew your portfolio toward the U.S. more than intended. Many investors lose track of their overall allocation when adding additional U.S.-focused ETFs on top of an already U.S-heavy global index.

Nasdaq-100

High-risk index, it took nearly 15 years to recover from the dot-com bubble (2002 - 2015), also has provided extremely good returns lately. Invest to the index with cautiously, like with other technology themed index funds.

Note that 86 out of 100 companies in Nasdaq-100 are already in the S&P 500 index, making this more concentrated.
